Privacy Policy
Drudow ("we", "us") saves the documents you send on WhatsApp into your own Google Drive and finds them again when you ask. It also lets you print documents at partner print shops. This policy explains what personal data we use, why, who else handles it, how long we keep it, and what you can do about it.
The short version: your files live in your own Google Drive, not with us. Drudow can reach only the folder it works in. We keep a short description of each file so we can find it — not the file itself. The one exception is a file you send to a print shop, which we hold briefly until it's printed.
Your Google Drive
Drudow asks Google for one limited permission. With it, Google lets Drudow reach only the files and folders Drudow created or that you choose to give it — the rest of your Drive stays out of our reach. Your files stay in your Drive: they pass through our servers only while being saved or sent to you. When you ask Drudow to delete a file, it goes to your Drive's trash, where you can restore it.
What we collect and why
| Your phone number, name and email | To recognise your messages and address you. Your name comes from your WhatsApp profile, or from Google if you sign in with it, and you can change it. We have an email address only if you signed up on the website. |
|---|---|
| Your Google connection | To save and fetch your files: the access Google gives Drudow, stored encrypted, and which Google account it belongs to. |
| A description of each saved file | Its name, folder and type, a short summary, and a few details such as a date or an amount — so Drudow can find it when you describe it. Searches use these descriptions, not the full text of your files. |
| Your conversations with Drudow | To keep track of what you're in the middle of, send the reminders you ask for, apply usage limits, and fix what Drudow gets wrong. ID and card numbers are partly hidden, and passwords and PINs aren't kept. |
| Print records | See printing below. |
Printing at a Drudow print shop
You can print at a partner shop by scanning its Drudow QR code — no account needed. The shop gets the file and a name to hand it over to (your WhatsApp or Drudow name, or one you give); it never gets your phone number. Until the shop marks the file printed, Drudow holds an encrypted copy, deleted then, when you ask, or after 30 minutes at most. A copy the shop has already printed or saved is the shop's, and Drudow can't delete it.
We keep a record of each print — which shop, when, and your phone number — to tell you when it's printed and to pay shops for the customers they serve. For 24 hours, the shop can also see your name and the file names in its list of the day's prints.
After a print, Drudow asks whether you'd like a Drudow account — at most once a month. If you don't answer, it sends one reminder with a link a few hours later, during the day, and nothing after that; reply stop and it won't. Printing never makes an account by itself: one is made only if you say yes, tap the link, or message Drudow for something other than a print.
Who else handles your data
Only the service providers Drudow needs, each for its own part:
- Google — stores your files in your Drive, and signs you in if you use Google.
- WhatsApp (Meta) — carries messages, files and voice notes between you and Drudow.
- An AI service — reads documents and transcribes voice notes so Drudow can describe and find them. It doesn't use them to train its models.
- Cloud and software providers — host our app and database, send account emails, report errors so we can fix them, and count website visits without cookies.
- Print shops — only the files you send them to print, and the name to hand them over to.
We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for advertising.
Google API Services Limited Use
Drudow's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Data obtained through Google APIs is used only to provide the features described in this policy, is never sold, is never used for advertising, and is never used to train generalised AI or machine-learning models.
Security
Your data is encrypted in transit, and the access Google gives Drudow is encrypted when stored. Access to our systems is limited to the people who run Drudow. No system is perfectly secure; if you find a security problem, please tell us at the address below.
How long we keep it
Your account, file descriptions and conversations are kept while your account exists, and deleted when you ask us to delete your account. Unfinished requests expire on their own. Print records are kept for as long as we need them to pay shops and answer questions about those payments.
Your choices and rights
- See, correct or delete what we hold about you by writing to us. Deleting your Drudow account doesn't touch the files in your Drive — they're yours.
- Withdraw access to your Drive at any time from your Google Account, or stop using Drudow simply by not messaging it.
- Complaints — write to us, and we'll respond within a month.
Children
Drudow accounts are for people aged 18 and over. Printing at a partner shop needs no account and is open to anyone; for a print we keep only what's described above, and the file itself for 30 minutes at most. If you believe a child has a Drudow account, or want a child's print records removed, tell us and we'll delete them.
Changes
We'll update this page when Drudow changes, and move the date at the top. If a change materially affects how your data is handled, we'll tell you.
